He is the Coordinator/Lecturer of the Fire Emergency Science program at the University of Florida, and Chief Learning Officer for the Health & Safety Institute.Dr. Lindsey holds a doctorate and master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a bachelor’s degree in Fire and Safety Engineering, and an associate’s degree in Paramedic. He also achieved the Chief Fire Officer designation and completed the Executive Fire Officer program. He was the 2011 recipient of the James O. Page EMS award, given annually to an individual who has had a positive, national impact on fire-service EMS management and leadership.

As the other reviewers have reported here, the access code provided with the book does not grant access to any online practice exam, or the "seven medical reference charts that you can return to time and again". Moreover, when I used the access code I was given access the EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Crash Course Book + Online (EMT Test Preparation), a completely different product from the same publisher. Now, of course, you can find the "Paramedic Flashcards: Online Practice Exam" on the publisher's website and there is a way for me to purchase access to the practice exam (for a small fee of only $9.95!!!), and I assume the promised charts as well (I don't know for sure since I didn't check), but I don't think I should shell out another $9.95 for something that is promised right on the front cover, and in the Amazon description.So to summarize, access code does not give access to anything promised right on the cover of the book, no practice exam, no medical reference charts, nada. I have emailed the publisher to see why they use fraudulent statements in the description of the product. I will update this review when I hear back.
I bought this book because it says "Online Practice Exam" and "Medical reference Charts online". NOWHERE on the front or back covers, or in the intro pages that you can read in the "Look Inside" pages does it say that you'll have to pay more for these features. I received the book today, logged in online, and you can't do anything online without paying ANOTHER $25.85! This book is a waste of money if you are trying to assess yourself for the NREMT-P exam.
If your becoming a EMT this book is the easiest way to kill the class. Must have.
Online is nonsense. I got nothing when I entered my "access code" online. No practice test. No medical charts. What a waste of money.

I bought the EMT Basic Flash card book by Jeffrey Lindsey as a Basic student and was well prepared for the NREMT Exam. This book has delivered just the same!
Same cards as the 1st edition, considering I had the first edition already (kind of a waste). Good cards though!
